Never had it so good

BBC 7 today (7.3.2006) broadcast a Goons episode first heard 11.10.1956. It was Drums Across the Mersey'.Spike Milligan's script contained the words 'never had it so good'. Macmillan famously used the expression in a speech on 20.7.1957. Was Mac (or his speechwriter) a Goon's fan?
