: Who said "See Rome and Die". I know you've discussed it before, but who exactly said it

I believe the phrase usually used is 'see Naples and die' but I don't know who said it first. It means that after one has experienced Naples there is simply nothing worth living for any longer: one has seen the best the world has to offer.
