: : Recently I came across a phrase "put our game-face on.and not take it off for at least two years!". Could anyone please tell me the origin and meaning of this?
: I know nothing about sports. But I'll take a stab at this phrase. I believe it means an intimidating face devoid of emotion...one that will rattle one's opponent.
I'm more inclined to say a look of determined seriousness. It's proof (to your teammates, the crowd, whoever) that you're all business. Intimidation may be a byproduct, but it's mostly attitudinal.
