That's a British way of speaking, I believe. They say "at table" where we Americans would say "at the table", and "in hospital" where we would insert the word "the". Hmm, I wonder if we're the ones using an old-fashioned speech pattern that came over in colonial times and was never updated. Did they say "at the table" in Shakespeare's time?
