: Here's what I think it means: as a society (in the U.S.)we give lip service to the concept that "all people are equal." We are "suppose" to be without a caste system. But only the rich and powerful truly have all the benefits of freedom, pursuit of happiness, etc.
Methinks it's from Orwell's 'Animal Farm.'
