A Room Without Books Is Like A Day Without Sunshine

: I have heard this expression used since I was a young child--almost 60 years ago. Does anyone have any info on its origins? Thanks.

According to the Amazon.com magnet on my frig, a similar phrase is attributed to Cicero: "A room without books is like a body without a soul."
