: 'Dekko'/'Decko' is indeed a look. It comes from the Hindi 'dekho' meaning 'look!'. Late 19thC and clearly brought back from India by British troops.

Your heart is sometimes called your 'ticker', but whether that has anything to do with what you're talking about i'm not sure....
