: I believe I have an understanding of what a "prat" may be, given the usage of the term by British associates of mine, but is there a precise definition? Does it refer to a particular person in history?
I myself have too few British associates to have heard the word. The American Heritage Dictionary has this:
prat, n. Vulgar. The buttocks. [Probably imitative of the sound of spanking.]
