: I believe the general conotation for a "Mickey Finn" is a drink that is meant to render its drinker unconscious. One version of its origin is that Mickey Finn was an Irish or Irish American boxer that was skilled at knocking out his opponants. Thus to knock one out by puting a drug in their drink was to "slip them a Mickey."

Probably not a boxer.
