: : : What is the origin of the phrase, to get a second bite of the apple??? HELP!!!
: : This is a guess: it means sex and refers to the forbidden fruit that Eve offered to Adam. What do you guys think?
: It's used in the law. If I recall correctly, during a trial, if an attorney asks an improper question that provokes an objection that is then sustained... it really irritates a judge if the attorney attempts to "take a second bite of the apple" by asking a similar improper question. Any lawyers out there to verify this?
Oh. My mind in the gutter again.
