"In a Coon's Age"

Posted by Carissa on September 20, 2001

A co-worker of mine had used "In a coon's age" in a sentance referring to time. Which,
I'm guessing is correct. "Haven't see you in a coon's age". But what is the origin of this
phrase? How did it come to be?
I've searched the website to no avail.
Any suggestions?
