Poms and Wogs

I am amazed that these two aren't here ..

Being English living in NZ I get ribbed about the first all the time.

I have heard one theory that it is because English sailors fought off scurvy by eating pomegranates they collected form Tahiti

My grandad seemed to think that it came from the prison uniforms of transported English crims to Australia. The logo was POHM - Prisoner Of His/Her Majesty.

He also reckoned that WOGS came from a similar uniform (location unknown) for Workers On Goverment Service

Anyone else have a theory ...?
