: I typed "bleeding edge" into Google and got lots of links. It seems to be a POSITIVE phrase despite its yucky associations. This page has a definition:

It's a mixed blessing. If you're out on the edge, you could be leading the charge to the future... or wasting your time on technology that will never happen. Rememeber quadraphonic sound?
