: A cartoon in the March 12 "New Yorker" shows two preadolescent boys walking home from school: backpacks, baseball caps on backward, bored expressions. One boy says to the other, "That old fifteen-minutes-of-fame thing--that's from the Bible, isn't it?"

A Prof from Cambridge has studied the baseball hat in some depth and concluded:

1. Wearing it with peak to the front reduces the wearers IQ by 10%.

2. Wearing it with peak to the rear of the head (backwards) reduces the wearers IQ by 50%.

On the basis of these findings the opinion of the boys is understandable.
