Sock it to 'em

Posted by Pete Yates on March 02, 2011 at 08:58

The phrase "sock it to 'em" was once used by Leo G. Carroll (of "Topper") fame in a movie in the early 40s or late 30s. I believe he was instructing Freddie Bartholomew on how to succeed at a boarding school. I may be mistaken about Bartholomew, but I'm flat positive it was Leo G. Carroll who uttered: "Sock it to 'em."
