: : : Has anyone comse acrooss the phrase or saying 'to have no cotter with'? Is this just a Midlands phrase?
: : I've not heard it in the United States. I took a quick look through some slang books and didn't find it.
: It would help a lot if you could say what the phrase means! There's a dialect word "cotter" which means "an entanglement; fig. a difficulty, trouble, worry" but as you haven't explained how your phrase is used I have no way of knowing if that fits your phrase or not. (VSD)
I'm guessing that you mean the English Midlands. I'm from there and I've not heard the phrase before.
