Sitting up like Jackie

Its actually an answer I have to an old posting you had in June 2004 re the meaning of "sitting up like Jackie: - here it is "Sitting up there like Jackie" was an expression used when I was a child back in Ireland. I believe it to be from the nursery rhyme "Little Jack Horner" sat in the corner eating his Christmas pie, he put in his thumb and pulled out a plum, and said what a good boy am I . In all the pictures you see him sitting up straight and very proud of himself. Hence the saying "What are you doing sitting up there like Jackie... look too pleased with yerself!" - as my mum would say. So, sorry... it's definately not of Australian origin.
