"Here goes!" dates back to 1829. (Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings by Gregory Y. Titelman, Random House, New York, 1996.Page 134.) Also learned that "Here's how!" was a toast during the U.S. Civil War. I couldn't find "Here goes nothing."
