Addendum to "April Fool"

In the 4th century (iirc) Pope Gregory IV enacted an edict that moved the beginning of the new year from April 1 (the first full month after the start of spring and Roman Military activities) to January 1 (the first month after Christmas) He decreed that all who continue to celebrate the new year in April are fools and should be corrected.
