: : : : The song "Blinded by the light" by Manfred Mann (possibly) has a line, after this main line that I cannot
: : : : figure out and goes something like:
: : : : blah blah blah we could do for the shironah in the night!!!!
: : : : I know that's not correct, but it's all I can hear.
: : : : Thanks.

: : : "Blinded by the Light" by Manfred Mann from The Roaring Silence (c) 1976 lyrics by Bruce Springstein (!!)

: : : Chorus: Blinded by the light
: : : revved up like a deuce
: : : Another runner in the night
: : : Blinded by the light
: : : revved up like a deuce
: : : Another runner in the night
: : : Blinded by the light
: : : revved up like a deuce
: : : Another runner in the night (fading)

: : Well, you knew sooner or later someone would eclipse Shakespeare.

: I thought it was "cut loose like a goose, like a runner in the night." An ode to someone with gastrointestinal problems perhaps. My other misunderstood song is "Groovin'" I thought the words were "you and me and Leslie..." You know, like a couple with a baby. Turns out it is "you and me, endlessly." How boring.

Misheard lyrics are often called 'mondegreens', after a old Scots song about a rascal who shot 'Lord Randall and Lady Mondegreen' - or "laid him on the green".
