: When someone says 'you keep my life grounded', what does that mean?

It probably comes from grounded in the meaning of being firmly fixed on the ground, or having a firm foundation. Another common expression is "having one's feet on the ground." In the latter case, it implies always being cognizant of reality. "You keep my life grounded" suggests to me something akin to "You keep me connected to reality."

Although there is probably no connection at all, the grounding of an electrical outlet has a similar effect, keeping the circuit safe and greatly reducing the likelihood of an electrical accident.
