Missed a trick
Does anybody know the meaning of the phrase "I haven't missed a trick"?
I think it has to do with this meaning of "trick" --
a quick or artful way of getting a result. (Merriam-Webster)
In card games like Bridge or Whist, a "trick" is a round of cards played. If you fail through inattention or lack of skill to win a trick that you should have won, you are said to "miss a trick". (VSD)
