Had the Richard or Dick

Posted by Parthian on October 26, 2007

Couldn't find 'had the Richard/Dick' in the rchives. i.e. 'It's had the Richard/Dick' = it is broken and beyond repair. Does anyone know where the phrase [not the Richard=Dick] in this context originates?
