Is Bismark a herring?Posted by Ron on October 05, 2007 What is the origin of the phrase, "Is Bismark a herring"? The first I heard this phrase was in the movie "Blazing Saddles". I know there's a product called Bismark Herring that's available in Europe so that explains the relationship between "Bismark" and "herring". But why "Bismark"?
