I ran across an earlier post on the debate over the phrase "that's mighty wide of you." Can someone do a little more research on this phrase? I've always been under the impression that there are two phrases. "That's mighty wide of you" (i.e., broadminded and willing to give room to other opinions) and "That's mighty white of you" (i.e., acting like a white person).
