: What does, "Giving us the Old Heave Oh." mean? I heard it on the radio today, and I have heard it said before but I have no idea what this means.
It's the old heave-ho. Meaning: to get rid of something or someone. Origin: nautical, probably from sailors chanting in unison, coordinating their grunts to synchronize their movements in throwing something overboard. ~rb
