: Another way to look at it is by opposites. If you act in good faith, you are not acting in bad faith, that is, with the intent to lie or otherwise deceive and do harm. If you act in good faith, it is with honest intent, with no hidden motives nor intent to harm.
I believe it is "good faith effort."
