: I am trying to recall a baseball phrase which says something to the effect of:

: "When I first learned to play, I gripped the ball, but in the end, baseball gripped me".

: I am putting together a collage of photos for my son now that he has finished his baseball playing days and want to use this phrase as the headline.

I tried googling different parts, and found nothing. Evenif you can't find the source, feel free to use it as the headline. It's a sentiment you like.
