: does anyone know what this saying means and where it originated: When pigs fly, hogs go to the slaughterhouse
I, for one, do NOT know what it means. "When pigs fly" is a common humorous equivalent for "never." However, hogs as a class go frequently to the slaughterhouse, and there's nothing funny about it.
