Not so far as I know. It's made up to sound like the kind of taboo you might find in the Bible or some other religious scripture that inspires food avoidance in the practitioners. If you have a Bible you can check out Leviticus, where most of the taboos are listed. But the book, by Frederick Simoons (Eat not this flesh: Food avoidance from prehistory to the present, 1961, rev. 1994), deals with religions and cultures around the world and across time.
