: : I need to know the complete phrase
: : "lesson learned is a lesson...?"
: "A lesson learned is a lesson earned" is one version I found on the internet (there was others). I don't really get what it means. Pamela
I, too, had recourse to the Internet, and found a warehouse full of citations. The only ones with either alliteration or rhyme were: a lesson earned is a lesson learned, and a lesson lived is a lesson learned. In each case, the idea is that you are "learning your lesson" through real experience, as in "I gues he learned his lesson."
