: : : "Words are the only bullets in truth's bandoleer. And poets are the snipers."

: : What is your question?
: Who is the author and what is the orgin of the expression.

A google search seems to point to a science fiction book by Dan Simmons "Hyperion" (note "Truth" seems to be capitalised to personify it when the quote is reproduced on some web pages, but not on others): "Words are the only bullets in Truth's bandolier, and poets are the snipers." I'm a bit confused because there are references to "lyrics" as well -perhaps someone wrote a song based on the book or quote. I'll leave you to dig that bit out since I've never heard of it myself.
