RIDE LOW
Posted by Yuri on June 10, 2006
Dear native-speaking experts, Your assistance is highly appreciated. The fact is, I am not after using slang (that would be foolish) - rather I am concerned with phrases that may present difficulties for foreign students when reading original unadapted English. Right now I would like to hear your comments on the phrase RIDE LOW and ask you to authenticate the expression RIDE SOMEONE LOW listed in an online slang dictionary: Ballast water may also be carried so that a ship rides low enough in the water to pass under bridges and other structures. Selma is riding me low asking me for my phone number. Thank you, Yuri
