: : I want to know the brief discussion about the phrase "Time and Tide wait for none".
: This is a very old proverb, which goes back to the Middle Ages. The traditional form is "wait for no man" - I suspect "none" has been recently substituted to make it gender-neutral and therefore politically correct. It means just what it says: neither time nor the tide will stand still for anyone.
