: I have heard a phrase and desire to know its meaning and its origin (if possible). It is said to be a hillbilly phrase (although I've not heard of such in the past). The phrase is, "Gone to that black panther in the sky." Ever heard of it? Thanks. Paul 2/26/2006

It sounds like an American Indian phrase. It sounds like some Hollywood or TV writer's version of how an Indian would describe death.
