: Just two phrases that my father often uses:

: a) spending money like a man with no arms (might be reference to the Life of Riley explanation I found in the archives)

: and

: b) how's your belly off for spots: how are you?

: I've only found one other person whose family uses (b) - they lived in the East of London, as did my family.

: Grateful to know if anyone else uses them, or knows their origins.

I hail from London's East End. I've never heard the phrases. I guess that they could be family sayings.
