: What does "set loose" mean?

: For example: "Goyer was simply the wrong man to set loose in this world, for now the once promising 'Blade' franchise has been crippled by his unfortunate tinkering", qouted from a movie review.

: Many thnx!

It means, in general, to allow freedom to, to liberate or the like. More specifically, in your example, I think it means 'to introduce to', or to 'give freedom of action to'.
