Eyeless in Gaza and

There's an expression I heard years ago - "eyeless in Gaza". Does anyone know the meaning or root of it?

It is from John Milton's 'Samson Agonistes':

'Eyeless in Gaza at the mill with slaves'.

It is a reference to Samson's blindness.

It was brought back to prominence in the 20th Century by Aldous Huxley's novel.
