Buck Naked

I believe the original expression was "buck naked," but I don't know the origin. Maybe "buck" for young male Indian? If I find anything further, I'll post it. "Butt naked" is just a variation someone came up with. The Random House Historical Dictionary of American Slang, Volume 1, A-G by J.E. Lighter lists "buck- a**ed naked" as another variation of the term. But you probably don't want your child to use that one.
