: : : : : In a recent article I read a line that said: "Some Christians are taught not to 'yoke with unbelievers'...".

: : : : : In a recent discussion with my partner, I told him that I recalled that somewhere in the bible it was (I think) clearly stated that the wedding of a Christian to a non-Christian is not considered to be a marriage in the eyes of God. These are my words and my interpretation. I've tried searching the Bible for something to that effect, then after reading the above article, I started searching for something to the effect of 'yolking with unbelievers'. But I haven't found any of that.

: : : : : Now I assume that 'yolk with unbelievers' is more about sex and/or reproduction, than marriage, seeing yolks have more to do with ovum.

: : : : : Is anyone up with this? Does anyone know where such a reference might be in the Bible?

: : : : I don't happen to know. I'm betting on "yoke," myself. You might try one of the biblical concordances available through Google.

: : : Good point. It occurred to me afterwards that there is that other kind of yoke, eg. as worn by oxen and horses to join them together pulling drays, etc., and that could definitely be a reference to marriage. I'll do some more googling.

: : Yoke = 1 a : a wooden bar or frame by which two draft animals (as oxen) are joined at the heads or necks for working together. (Merriam-Webster online)

: : King James Version
: : 2 Corinthians 6:14
: : Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

: : Amplified Bible
: : 2 Corinthians 6:14
: : Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness?

: : (Bible Gateway online)

: : You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

: Thanks ESC, exactly what I was looking for, except maybe for the flea version - hehe.

A good place to check Bible verses is Bible Gateway at bible.gospelcom.net/ Click on "Advanced Search" and you can look stuff up in different versions of the Bible. I am a King James Version person myself. But sometimes the modern versions help in understanding a passage.
