: : : : I'm looking for the well known phrase "Eat My Shorts!".
: : : : Shouldn't it be here?
: : : Our founder (reverent bow toward Sheffield) never intended this venture to be a complete or exhaustive list of all phrases. As to what "should" be here, we leave that up to his discretion ... or whimsy.
: : Bob, aren't you the fellow who could tell us fer sher what we are to make of "Eat my snorts"? SS
: Lord, these typos show their ugly selves at the most inopportune times! What I meant, of course, was "Eat my shorts"! SS
"Eat my snorts" has a charm of its own. Probably the only point of interest about EMS is the socilogical perspective about the ever-moving border of what's acceptable. When giving Bart Simpson some charming insult, choices were made. The then-popular "eat me" was, and still is, over the top for the delicate ears of American TV watchers. But out of the mouth of a perpetual 10-year old, "eat my shorts" was deemed naughty but passable.
