: My father recently used the phrase: "we looked like a bunch of Jukes and Callycats." When I asked him what that meant he said it came from a sociological study of inbreeding done in the 30's or 40's. I can't find anything about this anywhere. Help?
It's Jukes and Kallicaks, (guessing at spelling) pseudonyms for two families who were studied to determine whether deviant behavior is hereditary.
