: "Through A Glass Darkly" ( Såsom I en spegel ) is the title of
a 1961 Bergman film, a very serious and somber movie with themes
of mental illness and a search for spirituality.
It's from the Bible. (King James Version)"Now we see through a
glass, darkly; but then face to face." I Cor. 13:12 The way I interpret
this verse is, we will "understand it better, by and by." We don't
know why things happen, but when we get to heaven, we will. Another
version of that section of the Bible: "When I was a child, I reasoned
like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways.
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to
face. Now I know only in part, then I will know fully, even as I
have been fully known. And now faith, love and love abide, these
three; and the greatest of these is love."
