: : : This isn't new (see the Urban Dictionary) but it's funny.
: : : POP TART -- "LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- In the aftermath of Janet Jackson's controversial Super Bowl breast exposure, MTV has decided that pop tart Britney Spears may be a bit too "Toxic" for daytime tastes..."
: : : A Pop-Tart is a "toastable" breakfast pastry produced by Kellogg's.
: : : I also think it's funny that someone has produced "The history of Pop-Tarts." www.geocities.com/ conspiracyprime/e2_poptarts.htm
: : I thought of the breakfast "pastry" too but then it occured to me that pop might be short for "popular" and in Pop music and "tart" is well, "tart" in the British sense of a promiscuous woman (with a connotation of cheapness or unpleasantness). Just a thought.

: I see. A pop tart is a kind of crumpet!
: or maybe a strumpet crumpet?
