: Does anyone know who first said this, and the context in which it was said?

I just read that the rest of the quote is... but the highest form of intelligence. I don't know if this is accurate.

While that might be the quote, please note that it is not necessarily my opinion. And there can be a fine line between wit and intelligence. Still I'm curious to know exactly what is the correct quote, who first said it and why.
