: " TWO SIX Heave" is supposed to be a nautical term for preparing to pull using a group of men.
: Being an Ex sailor I have heared this expresion on many occasions.
: I have heard of the origins of this expression but can anyone confirm these.
From the days when each man of a gun's crew was given a number. It was the job of Number 2 and Number 6 to heave the gun back throuh the gun port in preparation for firing after it had been loaded.
