Grandma

Posted by Sphinx on November 08, 2003

"Don't think that I don't know how to catch a man. " My granma snapped. Her voice acquired a sharper, defensive tone as she firmly pulled down the sides if her jacket.
...I smelled the body powder on her cheek that made it as soft as kid leather.

1.Could you explain "snap"?
2.What does the author mean by saying "acquired a sharper, defensive tone "?
3.What is kid leather?

Thanks for any hand!
