: Can anyone Please tell me what is a Sparlash

Living on a very long island that juts out into the Atlantic, I am a bit familiar with nautical terms.
In boating circles, a "spar lash" is a type of guy line that connects rigging without nails.
"Lash" is from the Danish "laska" meaning to stitch or fasten.
A "spar" is a rounded pole of wood or metal used to support rigging.
