: Have you ever observed a rooster (cock) strutting proudly around the barnyard, crowing and making much fuss about his perceived importance, while the hens and the rest of the animals go about their business without really paying any attention? Some people behave the same way and are said to walk with a "cock step" or a "cock stride."
