Tout court

Posted by Miri Barak on June 29, 2003

Hello
I have an expression "tout court" it sounds French but I did not find its meaning, I checked in the cobuild Concordance and it is used in English.
The context:
The use of the term may indeed be inherited form earlier formulation of the pericope in which the "sons of God" may have been divine beings *tout court*, but it is not improbable that the author of this text in its final form should have understood it in reference to rulers..."
and of course my deepest thanks and appreciation.
